Muscoda Prairie

The Muscoda Prairie was established in 1990 by a group of people wanting to enhance the Muscoda Area. The ground was worked up and seeded with Little-Big Bluestem grasses along with a variety of wildflowers.

Poppies on the PrairieEvery year a new project is undertaken with the prairie being burned in different sections annually. Bat and Martin houses have been added to control mosquitoes and other pesky insects. A split rail fence was built boarding the gazebo are where groups have picnics. An informative glass enclose sign is nearby which is updated frequently with prairie happenings and other relate information.

In 2003 a border are of flowers only was undertaken and seed planted in the late fall. The summer of 2004 with ample rain fall has resulted in some real beauty.
