Dickeyville, Wisconsin
"Home of the Grotto"
Dickeyville, founded in 1842, is the home of the famous "Grotto". The Grotto and Shrines were built by Father Matthias Wernerus and are located on the grounds of the Holy Ghost Parish. His handiwork in stone, built from 1925-1930, is dedicated to the unity of two great American ideals - love of God and love of country.
The village has numerous retail businesses that cover the needs of local residents. Unlimited retail is also located just eleven miles away at Platteville and ten miles away at Dubuque, Iowa.
Businesses seeking to locate in Dickeyville have access to a large labor force including the City of Dubuque, just minutes away.
Dickeyville sports two community parks which feature: softball fields, horseshoe pitch, tennis courts, playground equipment and covered pavilions. Nearby is the Mississippi with numerous recreational activities.
Twice a year, in May and September, motorcycle enthusiasts travel from all over to participate in (or just enjoy) the well-known "Dickeyville Hill Climb" which is sponsored by the Hawkeye Motorcycle Club of Dubuque, Iowa.
