"Home of the Fort"

Montfort is conveniently located on U.S. Highway 18. While Montfort provides a quiet, rural atmosphere, it is only 45 minutes from Dubuque, Iowa, and 60 minutes from Madison.

Montfort has its own water and sewer utilities, an on-going street-improvement plan, and is part of an excellent school system. We also have a library, a bowling alley, and a city park with a beautiful swimming pool, walking trail, ball diamond, climbing toys and picnic tables. There are several businesses that supply excellent meals.

Montfort holds their annual Big Days the first weekend in June with various activities such as a 2 mile Run/Walk, Rib Contest, Dance, Beer Tent and their famous VFW Chicken BBQ and Big Parade on Sunday. Be sure to get there early though before the chicken runs out!
