Platteville, Wisconsin

"More Than You Can Imagine"

PLATTEVILLE is a picturesque community nestled among the unglaciated rolling hills of southwestern Wisconsin. With a population of over 10,000, it is one of the most rapidly growing areas of the region. The Heartland Festival at UW-Platteville and many recreational activities make Platteville a destination for thousands of visitors throughout the year.

Firms are attracted to Platteville because of the lower cost of doing business here. A recent study analyzing the cost of operating in Platteville vs. the cost of the same business operating in Chicago, Illinois, showed a five year annualized cost difference of 40 percent. Contributing factors include: lower electrical rates, competitive wage rates, favorable worker's compensation rates and more productive employees.

The University of Wisconsin - Platteville interacts with local and regional business and industry by providing faculty consulting assistance, continuing education, design studies and student projects.

The Platteville Industrial Park offers fully developed sites. Infrastructure improvements include paved streets, curb & gutters and the following underground utilities: water, sanitary sewer, electricity, natural gas, coaxial cable & fiber optics. A 400,000 gal. water storage tower at the park ensures sufficient water pressure and capacity for all industrial uses.
