A Christmas Story Presented by Community players of Southwest Wisconsin
Community Players Winter production A Christmas Story
The play is based on Jean Shepherd’s classic holiday movie about nine-year-old Ralphie Parker, whose Christmas wish is for a Red Ryder BB gun. Ralphie pleads his case before his parents, his teacher, and even Santa Claus himself at Higbee’s Department Store. The consistent response? “You’ll shoot your eye out!”
All the elements from the beloved motion picture are included: The family’s temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys’ experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Little Orphan Annie
decoder pin; the iconic leg lamp; Ralphie’s fantasy scenarios; and more. Performances are Friday December 8th @7pm and Saturday December 9th @7pm and Sunday December 10th @2pm. And then Thursday December 14th @7pm and Friday the 15th @7pm and Saturday the 16th @7pm. Tickets are $5 for children under 12 and seniors 65 and over and $10 for adults. Tickets are only available at the door. Doors will open 30 minutes before each show. All tickets are general seating.
