Fishing, Boat Landings and Fishing Guide Services in Grant County WI

Trout Streams and rivers are well stocked with fishLocated between the Mississippi River and the raging Wisconsin River, Grant County provides the highest premium fishing spots in the Midwest. The Mississippi River is known for its excellent panfish, large and smallmouth bass, walleye, northern, sauger and all species of catfish. In the Wisconsin River, anglers vie for northern, blue gills, smallmouth bass, catfish, walleye, sturgeon and sauger. Common to both rivers are the "rough fish" such as sheephead, carp, redhorse and gar.

Today there are thirteen public access fishing areas in Grant County, as well as numerous miles of secluded trout streams. All of the Grant County fishing hot spots are looking forward to welcoming you to share in our beautiful and bountiful rivers and streams. Wisconsin River and Mississippi River Boat Landings & Recreational Areas:

  • Victora Riverside Park: Turn East on River Road at the South end of Highway 80 bridge. Two blocks. Restroom, picnic tables, grill, showers, play ground, camping, shelter, and walking trail. DNR/Muscoda Access: Turn West on River Road at the South end of Highway 80 bridge. Three blocks
  • Blue River: Highway T at the Wisconsin River Bridge north of Blue River. Restroom, picnic table, grill
  • Boscobel - Floyd Von Haden Recreation Area: Highway 61 at the Wisconsin River Bridge north of Boscobel. Shelter, hydrant, restrooms, picnic tables, grill
  • Woodman: Off Highway 133, 2 ½ miles west of Woodman. Restroom, picnic table, grill
  • Millville: Off Highway C, west of Millville. Restroom, handicap fishing access, picnic tables, grill.
  • Wyalusing: Off Highway X in the town of Wyalusing. Shelter, hydrant, restroom, picnic tables, grills, sand beach
  • Glen Haven: Also known as the Chase Creek. On the west end of town, across the railroad tracks. Restrooms, picnic tables, grill
  • Riverside Park Boat Landing: Off Highway 133 on to Crawford Street, Cassville. Restrooms, shelter, showers, picnic tables, RV waste disposal
  • McCartney: At the west end of Highway N. Restroom, picnic tables, grill
  • Potosi: Off Highway 133 at the south end of Potosi. Rustic
  • Grant River Recreation Area (Potosi): Left off Highway 133 on River Lane Road; two miles. Boat ramp, camp sites
  • Banfield Bridge: Indian Creek Road, off Highway 61 west of Dickeyville. Picnic tables
  • O'Leary's Lake: Eagle Point Road, off Highway 61 south of Kieler. Restroom

  • Big Green River: Highway 133 upstream to Highway T (Fennimore)
  • Big Spring Creek: Upstream from Pine Tree Road (Muscoda)
  • Borah Creek: Upstream and downstream from Bluff Road (Lancaster)
  • Castle Rock Creek: Upstream from Witek Raod (Castle Rock)
  • Castle Rock Creek & spring: Church Road downstream to first Highway Q Bridge (Castle Rock)
  • Crooked Creek: Upstream from Highway 133 (Boscobel)
  • Doc Smith Branch: Downstream from Everson Road (Fennimore)
  • Klondyke: Off Highway 61 to Cty K. Travel 2 ½ miles north on Cty K (Lancaster)
  • Little Grant River: Cty A upstream to Minor Road (Woodman)
  • Legget & Newell Creeks: Southeast of Fennimore
  • Little Platte River: Upstream from Highway 80 (Fennimore)
