Tourism and Things to Do

Mississippi River view at CassvilleCassville was settled in 1827. The estate of Nelson Dewey, first governor of Wisconsin, is now the Stonefield Historic Site which includes the Nelson Dewey State Park, the Stonefield Village (an 1890's village), an Agricultural Museum and the Nelson Dewey Homesite. The Cassville Car Ferry is a fun way to cross the Mississippi River to Iowa. Be sure to visit Cassville during Bald Eagle Days in January or Railroad Days in August. Seasonal events are held at Stonefield Village. Visitors enjoy the public docks, accessible fishing piers, maintained campgrounds, excellent parks, biking and hiking trails, and good food at the local places to eat.
