Hazel Green Wisconsin Community Information

Hazel Green was established as the Point of Beginning for the state of Wisconsin in 1831. This is the place where all land that was to become Wisconsin would be measured. Today, every property deed in Wisconsin includes a description which is based on the Point of Beginning (POB).  Hazel Green is a quiet agricultural community of 1200 residents and home of the Southwestern Wisconsin Community School District.

Economic Development

The village of Hazel Green has 25 acres for industrial development and has over 400 acres to be developed for industrial or residential uses. Located only 9 miles from Dubuque IA, 9 miles from Galena IL and 15 miles from Platteville WI, there is a large available work force and outstanding training facilities nearby. Tourism and Things to Do

Hazel Green WIHazel Green has several Bed and Breakfasts and antique shops for history enthusiasts and shoppers. The Mississippi River, 9 miles west, provides excellent boating, canoeing, hunting and fishing opportunities. The Village boasts a beautiful recreation park and Memorial Park for visitors and residents. Golf courses, pools and ski slopes are located nearby.
